Session # 106

1 Phoenix (10:00)

As you go down the hallway after passing the large

chain and metal collar that would fit an elephant,

you hear through to the heavy wooden door,

the faint guttural mutters carrying from the other side,

draconians. (at least 4 or 5)

Before you can act, Silvart’s voice cuts through the passage from behind you, louder than before, sharp with urgency.

"over here" her tone echoing faintly.    "I hear chanting — voices, Not far from here."

As you approach,  the voices seem to come from down the other hall and are not on the other side of this door, but deeper....

Silvart raises her hand. "Whatever rite they’re performing… it’s happening now."

Hermes investigates with his stealthy abilities and around the

back corner, the chanting gets louder.

As he goes down the long hall, a series of large gated chambers

come into view, 5 chambers containing eggs, dragon eggs.

But not of the evil dragons, but those of good dragons, Brass,

Copper, Bronze, Gold and Silver.

Silvart sees the eggs and goes utterly still, her breath catching

in her throat.   For a long moment she could do nothing but stare,

her gaze locked on the helpless shells.

Her shoulders trembled, and she pressed a hand tightly to her chest as if to hold back something breaking within. She turned her face away, composing herself, but a few notice the depth of her anguish.

Around that corner, Hermes sees two black hooded figures

flank a small, slime-covered altar. They stare at an object

on the altar in deep concentration, uttering the low,

droning chant.

Looming in the back over the two human-sized creatures,

also staring at the object upon the altar, is a red dragon.

On the altar sits a silver dragon egg.

The chanting has reached some kind of climax,

the hooded figures pause.  Suddenly, a drop of saliva

from the red dragon's hideous mouth plops onto the egg.

Immediately, the silvery surface turns black and slimy.

The egg begins to grow, changing shape and writhing

as if in torment.   The egg becomes huge and begins

to split apart.  Emerging, are several dozens of squirming,

draconian-like silver coloured figures. They look like baby sivak draconians.

As Hermes turns away to warn the rest of the group of what he just witnessed, he spots in the chamber, 4 carts filled with shards and pieces of metal ore.

Probably that dragon metal you came looking for.

Combat with the dragon and the two headed men begin.

After the hooded men and the dragon fall to their death, a low gong sound is heard throughout the halls.

2 Shadow people come running to you location spuring out words, telepathecly,  you cannot understand

Silvart understands :

  • wrym / lords

  • great Abundance

  • danger

You decipher that they are communicating that you need to get out, a few hundred draconians are heading this way.  And they immediately run away down the halls.

At this point, You can hear above the rumbling and pounding on the ground as if hundreds of warriors were marching over your heads.

Taryn, still on his quest to avenge his father’s death, suddenly turns. With a dark grin, he calls out, “BRING ME TOEDE !!”  or at least, that’s how he pictured it in his head.

In reality, what actually came out was in a low voice,

“Toede is mine.”   With that, he vanishes around the corner, disappearing into the underground halls of the temple.

You all could only watch, understood and knowing you could not stand in the way of his quest, though unwilling, had to let him go.

After unsuccessfully attempting to access one the dragon egg chambers, you grab all the dragon ore that you can find, and Heimdall casts his teleportation spell and you all head back to Thorbardin.

1 Phoenix (14:00)

Arrived at Thorbardin, you head directly to the forge where Theros and Elistan are just finishing the dragonlances.

On your way to the forge, Silvart discusses with

Le Nordais regarding her reaction to seeing

the Good Dragon Eggs.

Silvart’s expression darkened as the realization took

shape. “Now you see why the skies have remained empty,”

she said quietly, her voice edged with sorrow.

“It was never indifference.  Takhisis has taken the eggs

of the good dragons… defiled them… and from them she

forges the draconians that now ravage Ansalon.

What greater cruelty could there be?”  She let the words hang for a moment, heavy with the weight of revelation.   “The good dragons could not act—not while their own young were held hostage to the Dark Queen’s will. That is why they have not come. That is why you have stood alone against the tide.”

“But now you know the truth. And the question becomes—how can this blasphemy be carried to those who must hear it? How can the children of Paladine be warned… before it is too late?”

Silvart’s voice softened, almost wistful, though she quickly masked it behind calm determination.
“Perhaps fate itself has chosen you for this task.  For if the good dragons learn what has been done in their name, they will not remain silent.  Maybe I can help but not sure if I can"

********************************

Arriving at the forge....

They now have a total of 4 Greater dragonlances (GDL), and 8 Lesser Dragonlances (LDL).

With the dragon ore you brought, Theros will let you know later this evening how many more he can make and how long it will take.

You head back to the Thorbardin inn to rest for the evening. As usual, Lozzac welcomes you and offers food and drink.

That evening Theros and Elistan arrive at the inn, and inform you that with the dragon metal, he can make a total 2 GDL and 10 LDL.  You would have now a total of 6 GDL and 18 LDL.

2 Phoenix (09:00)

Next morning, as Theros heads back to the Forge to start forging the new dragonlances,

Heimdall and Elistan make there way to the Chamber of the council of Thanes to ask for additional magic items to assist in communicating.

They are turned away by the council guards. The council is in lockdown and are not to be disturbed and to return in the afternoon.

Heimdall heads back to the inn, while Elistan goes to the forge to assist Theros.

Discussions that morning reveal a few things.

  • The meeting at Sanction that would gather all of the Dragon Highlords and Flight Marshals is planned for 3 Pheonix

  • It will probably take the Dragon Armies (if they leave from Sanction) about 4 days to reach the High Clerist Tower.  If they leave on 4 Pheonix, estimated arrival would be on 8 or 9 Pheonix.

  • It will take Theros and Elistan about 5 days to forge the Dragonlances with the new dragon metal.  Estimated completion would be 7 Pheonix.

You have planned out to head to the High Clerist Tower to, A. advise the Khights of Solamnia that you will provide dragonlances for the eminant attack, and then B. Return the next day with the Dragonlances.
