Session #79

15 H’rarmont (18:00)

The skeletal dragon and the knight stuck in the wall of force seems to open a door inside the wall of force and go through disappearing from inside the wall of force.

Heindall casts feather fall on himself, Le Nordais and the dead Griffon, that stop the rapid descent. Le Nordais casts dimension door and lands on Alhana’s griffon with Heimdall by the scruff of the neck.

Kitiara and her dragon take flight strait up through the clouds…Kitiara on her way out says :  you can still take the right path, the Dark Queen is watching...

You decide to head down to the ground and regroup, heal.  You manage to cast revivify on the dead griffon bringing him back to life.

You continue on your path towards the Bluegate mountains.  Storm clouds are still active over the mountain range. Now raining and winds have picked up speed. After about 3 hours of travel, you make it to the edge of the mountain ridge.  After landing, the griffons leave, heading North. Alhana mentions that the Griffons never want to enter this area and you have about an hour walk into the mountains and the entrance of the portal.

When approaching the mountain side, a hand imprint is visible. Alhana says : Only true Silvanesti lineage can open this door.

Alhana takes out her dagger, and cuts her left paume. she places her bloody hand in the imprint.

After Alhana places her hand on the wall, the rocky surface starts to tremble slightly, illuminating it with a red glow. The glow spreads like veins, tracing intricate patterns along the door's surface.

A low rumble echoes through the air, and fine cracks appear in the surrounding stone. Dust and small pebbles tumble to the ground as the seamless outline of the door begins to emerge, breaking free from its natural camouflage.
Slowly, the door retracts with a grinding of gears and the door slide upward opening into a dimly lit passage, a rush of air pushes out with the scent of earth.

Tunnel of moss-covered trees arching overhead that create a canopy of intertwined branches. Light filters through the dense foliage, casting an ethereal glow that illuminates the vibrant green moss carpeting the ground.
The tunnel about 1 mile before ending into a small clearing with an arch.

As you pass under the arch and approach the teleportation portal, the area is surrounded by bark that is gnarled and twisted, the branches like skeletal hands with two massive trees on both sides. The air around this area feels heavy, as if the small enclosed area is holding its breath.

A you get closer; the two trees begin to move. Their branches creak and groan as they bend unnaturally, pulling free from the earth. Bark cracks and splits, revealing glowing green veins of energy. Roots retract from the soil, reshaping into thick, muscular legs, and their trunks split open to form crude but menacing faces with glowing emerald eyes. The air fills with a low, resonant hum, a sound that seems to come from the trees themselves.

One of the tree steps forward, its voice a deep, rumbling growl that echoes like thunder:

Halt, travelers! You stand before the portal to Silvanesti, the land of the Firstborn. This path is not for the unworthy. Your presence defiles this sacred ground. No mortal feet shall tread where the children of Silvanos tread no more.

The second tree leans forward, its voice echoing:

Only those who honour the sanctity of this realm may proceed with a spoken word that lies in the song of the Silvanesti. Fail to speak it, and your bones will lay among the roots and your screams will nourish this area for eternity. Or you can also leave this place, never to return.

Alhana mentions that these guardians were not here when the Silvanesti people initially escaped to the continent of Ergoth.  There were probably added by her father after we left Silvanesti, and she knows the song of the Silvanesti very well. She was teaching it to their Little ones a few weeks ago.

The guardians provided a hint to the word:  I am the cradle where roots take hold, A timeless realm of stories told. I bear the weight of sky and trees.

After some reflection you found the password to be : Land.     The tree guardians let you pass.

Alhana goes first.  When you step into the portal, the world around you dissolve into a cascade of shifting light and energy. The sensation is both exhilarating and disorienting, as if you are being pulled through a torrent of windless motion. Time seems to stretch and compress simultaneously. Your surroundings blur into streaks of vibrant colours.

For a short moment, you feel weightless, as though suspended in an infinite void. The sound of rushing air and faint hum of magical energy fills your ears, and then, just as quickly as it began, the sensation ceases.

You are suddenly standing on solid ground on a portal platform identical to the one your entered. This one is in an open clearing of the forest.

Alhana confirms that you are now in Salvanesti lands on the edge of the city of Shalost. But something is terribly wrong,

the beautiful tree and forest of Shalost has changed.

Its now a dense, mystical forest bathed in a greenish-yellow haze. The scene has an otherworldly and enchanted atmosphere, with thick tree trunks, twisting branches, and lush moss covering the ground and trees. The overall lighting is dim, creating a sense of mystery, magic and sickness as if this is a place where cursed and reality blurred.
