Session #55 - 14 Hiddumont 19h00

After the combat with the Daergar Dwarves, about a dozen of Hylar dwarves were in prisoned in the cells. You freed them and explained your predicament and that a dracinian army was headed this way. As the Hylar's sworn duty to protect the Kingdom, they will guard the entrance of the guardian hall and provide you time to continue.

The Hylar explain that they were called to the 6st road Guardian Hall to support the protection of the Council of thanes for an emergency meeting. That is when they were ambushed by the Draconian troops and taken prisoner. They mentioned that they never saw the council, Eben was present. Other were taken somewhere else. They don't like Eben too much...

Eben mentioned that with the help of your map and directions, we (the refugees) found the Thorbardin Entrance, but after entering, we were attacked by Draconian troops, that infiltrated behind us. We have 675 refugees remaining (the ones that died were weak and old)

Some of us were captured and brought here, the others, well I do not know where they are... Elistan was with me and the other members of the Council of Freedom, but they were brought somewhere else.

Berem does not speak and seems always very confused and very tired...

After investigating the Guardian Hall, you continued in the 9th road tunnel in direction of the South Hall of Justice, where you would make your way back to the Hylar Kingdom. After a few miles of travel, you encounter party of Daergar dwarves and draconians (one on a huge lizard). combat, defeat, you stop for a long rest.

15 Hiddumont - 6 am

Continue down to tunnel and arrive at the South Hall of justice. This great hall has many pillars that support the 100 ft celling and about 300 ft square. When entering... At the end of the great hall, north, is several large golden gates. From the back echoing through the hall, you hear a deep dark voice) : "Finally! You, are, mine!"

The gates fling open and hundreds of Daergar Dwarves and Draconian troops rush in, from the north, and from the East and West passages, weapons at the ready. The golden gates close...

You hear a grim laughter (same voice): Nothing can save you now! Close the gate! at that moment a large gate closes behind you, blocking the exit behind you.

Through the north gates, a party of warriors, 5 draconians, 1 Ogre, and an Ettin, all wearing Dragon Red Army officer uniforms enter. They part, and from behind them walks in a tall and imposing humanoid figure about (7 feet) in a dark black armor with a grotesque mask. The imposing figure steps up onto a balcony over the central pit, and laughs with sinister joy, and he shouts: "I am the Red Wing Army Dragon Highlord, Verminaard of Nidus...... Welcome to despair!" Please,,,, Bring them forward.."

A few dozen Daergar Dwarves, weapons ready, urges you to approach the centre of the Hall.

Verminaard says:

Word has reached me that Ember, my faithful mount was slain! For that you will pay with great agony!

You also thought by gaining the Hammer of Kharas you would be victorious and free those miserable Pax Tharkas salves from doom. But all along, I was in control.
I only permitted you to retrieve what I could not. Now I have you, and the Hammer, and with it, I shall command the Dwarven Kingdoms.

Verminaard points to the West side of the Hall and says: "Bring in the prisoner scum..." From the left side entrance, draconian Guards escort a group into the centre of the Hall. You recognize them as members of the Council of Thanes.

Glade Hornfel, Highbluph Bluph, Gneiss Truesilver, Realgar, Rance Coalmount, Tufa Bloodeye, and a few you know, Elistan and the old storyteller from the Inn (Grey beard). Their hands are tied up in front of them.

The council enters, are Verminaard waves them in... and says : "Please join us, honorary council members. You are here to witness my success and dominance over the Kingdom of Thorbardin..."

He points to Elistan : When interrogating this false Cleric, he had in his possession a worthless book about the return of some false gods, nonsense, all of it. Verminaard holds the book up, rips in two, and throws it in the pit.

Verminaard turns back to you.. Now to show you how meaningless your struggle has been, one of you will bring the Hammer to me. Who will have the courage to come forward?

Verminaard's gaze sweeps over all of you. "I know everything about, all of you..."

Heimdall Fireforge the Hill Dwarf – How are these underground dwarves welcoming you? oh and your cowardly brother deserved his faith.. "Now bring me the Hammer!"

Dorren Kanan - You father is weak, that is why he fled with his meaningless people...he knew I would destroy him..... "Bring me the Hammer!"

Jack Orbet - Your puny God Majere can't help you, he's hiding from the Dark Queen. "Bring me the Hammer!"

Kelson Orbet - Jack's bastered brother, do you miss your mommy, maybe you should check up on her... Maybe she like the colour Black... "Bring me the Hammer!"

Hermes, or should I say Mesher - Elistan's friend, but not for long... "Bring me the Hammer!"

Tariiun Andin - Toede told me that your father begged like a dog before he took his life..."I order you to bring me the Hammer!"

Le Nordais Uth Matar - Play us a little tune Bard, maybe you will convince your sister will come back.... Evil laugh, not a chance, she is quite comfortable in her new role...If you don't want to suffer, bring me the hammer!

Eben Shatterstone - Information is the only thing you are good for...

(Eben moves away from the party). Eben says: My Lord, I will retrieve the Hammer from them, for you...

Eben approaches Heimdall (he has the hammer), ... The hammer glows slightly (only Heimdall can see it, and you hear within your mind, "let me go") almost unconsciously willingly you want to hand Eben the hammer.

This is where we ended the session….
