Session # 128
11 Phoenix (17:30)
After the death of Kitiara, you manage to heal some of your party members.
A few minutes later…
Gray mist drifts up the spiral stairwell.
As it reaches the chamber, it suddenly surges forward, gathering above you like a predator preparing to strike.
The fog transforms into the vampire, his eyes fixed on you.
"There you are...So... Soth is no more, finally." A cold smile crosses his face. "After all these centuries, I never thought I'd see that day.. but the fun is not over yet..."
He starts forward, and from the corner of his eye, he sees Kitiara's body. He freezes!!
"No..., not the Blue Lady, what have you done"
He slowly walks to her side and kneels. "I'm sorry, I was too late."
He gently lifts her into his arms and slowly rises. "The Dark Queen cannot bring you back now."
Only then does he look at the party.
"Another day, I would kill every one of you for this." "But not today."
He pulls out from his cap, a black crystal shard, crushes it, and in an instant both vampire and Kitiara are gone.
Only silence remains.
You investigate the entrance where Kitiara came out of, but the entrance sems to be affected by darkness.
11 Pheonix (18h30)
You decide to teleport (using a shard of teleportation) to the High Clerist Tower to meet with Commander Durn.
Arrival at the tower, you notice that troupes are heading out (about 300) and that the level of security has been elevated.
Headed to the War Council Room to talk to Commander Durn, you are halted by Sgt Hebert that refused entry and to come back at another time, the commander is unavailable. He clearly knows who you are but does not appreciate your presence.
After a meal and soe info from the guards in the tower, you receive a visite from a scrib that the commander requests your presence tomorrow morning 0800. In the War council room.
Good night sleep,
12 Phoenix (0700-0800)

You are invited in the war council room. Greeted by the Cmdr Durn, she is happy to see all of you.

-
Red dragon Army new position just past Majere Monestary still heading to Brighblade Keep. Should be arrive in 1.5 or 2 days.

Green Dragon Army was last reported in The Nordmaar area, but has been spotted just passed Kalaman. Suspect that they will regroup with thr Red Dragon Army north of Palanthas,
-
Black dragon Army attempted to Ambush Kendermore. The Kender forces from Kendermore, Goodlund, and Balifor using traps, sabotage and sheer chaos, managed to push back the Black DA that retreated with very low numbers remaining. Now they seem to have retreated to Sanction, the dragon Army Heqdquarters.
-
White Dragon Army was defeated by The Thorbardin Dwarves, destroyed in the mountains.
-
Blue Dragon Army, of course has been annihilated.
-

After some discussions, you have decided to head to Brightblade Keep to support the defence.
Commander has a meeting with some of her councillors about the defenses and will ask if a teleportation Sigil is known in Brightblade Keep.
Sgt Brandon will give notice of your arrival at Brighblade Keep, and he will provide you with some healing potions.
12 Phoenix (10:00)

Session # 129
12 Phoenix (10:00)
After your meeting with Commander Durn, you head back to your quarters, meal hall.
Sgt Brandon requests your presence and he mentions that the Head master in supplies told me that a good portion of the healing potions have been sent to Vingaard Keep, to support Brighbalde keep.
Not enough at HCT to provide you any... my apologies...
Late in the afternoon, Commander Durn calls for you at the war council room, several of her advisors close behind.
"I've spoken with my councilors and had the archives searched," "The news is less than ideal."
She places a hand on the map of Solamnia.
"We do not possess the sigil sequence for Brightblade Keep. Her councilors confirm that one exists, however, either it was never recorded here or the records were lost "
Her finger shifts Southward.
"We do, however, have the sigil code for Vingaard Keep. It's the nearest location available, about a day's horse ride to Brightblade under normal conditions." "It's not the destination you wanted, but it's the best option we have."
Its 2 day son horse to Brighblade keep and only one day from Vingaard Keep.
12 Phoenix (16:30)
You decide to attempt a teleoprt to Brighblade Keep (unsing the description of the keep from one of the Commanders councellers.
The teleport does not work perfectly and lans you in the middle of a forest. Dark clouds gather overhead to the north, and a cold wind sweeps across the lands. A road heads West and with the help of Korbin, a river is noticeable from a far so you decide to take the road towards the river.
As you get closer, you can see in the distance a structure on the other side of the river. As you get closer, you see that its a keep.
In the distance, the keep's banners hang limp in the damp air, though something immediately feels wrong.
Even from that distance, you can see that the gates are open. No patrols ride the roads. No signal fires burn upon the walls.
As you start to approach, movement appears among a cluster of trees overlooking the road. Several figures emerge with weapons drawn.
"Hold there!" Three soldiers in battered Solamnic colours step from concealment. Their armor is dented, cloaks torn, and several bear fresh bandages.
Crossbows are aimed at you until one of the soldiers takes a cautious step forward. The woman's face is exhausted, streaked with mud and dried blood.
"Thank the gods... You're not Dragonarmy." "Vingaard has fallen."
"Late last night, The Green Dragonarmy scouts crossed the river under cover of darkness. We thought they were merchants sent from the HCT with supplies, suprise they wearent..
OH! Apologies, I'm Lady Garrick, this is Wrenlight and Trovern..
"Most of the garrison is dead. Some escaped with us and are heading the BB Keep to warn them. Others are prisoners in the keep.
The enemy force isn't large, perhaps thirty soldiers and draconians, but more are coming. We intercepted riders carrying orders. This is only the advance party."
Draconian occupancy
- 10-15 scouts (all humans mercenaries).
- About 10 draconians.
- One draconian officer acting as temporary commander, look different form the other draconians
- Messengers constantly arriving and departing., we intercepted 2.
Survivors
- About 5 soldiers held captured in the tower.
You decide to wait until nightfall to infiltrate the keep. Once inside you are discovered and a combat breaks out between you and mercenaries and Bozak draconians.
Once you have cleared out the main court yard, you prepare to enter the main part of the keep.
