The Command Centre
You find yourselves on the 11th level of the High Clerist Tower - temporary command center — alive with movement and tension. Knights hurry between map tables, runners deliver messages, scribes scratch frantically. Lady Durn turns guides you toward one of the five great watch platforms.
The Watch Platforms — Suspended in the Sky
Stepping onto the stone platform feels like stepping into the open sky itself. A cold wind claws at your cloaks and hair, gentily pulling at you forward. The platform extends outward from the tower 70 feet, and then, Nothing.
Nothing but white, a vast, roiling ocean
of fog stretching as far as the eye can see.
You are 600 feet above the ground.
Peaks that should be visible for miles are gone.
Forests, roads, trails, even the base of the tower itself…
all erased beneath a suffocating fog.
Lady Durn mentions that she hates being up this high
when the fog rolls in…
feels like the whole world disappeared.”
Griffon Arrival
The dense fog still clings to Level 11, thick enough that even the torches along the Watch Platform glow only as blurred halos. At a distance, A faint sound, A wingbeat, Slow. Uneven..
One of the Sentries on the watch platform : “Hold—did you hear that?” A few secondes later, shapes move in the fog, vague silhouettes in the curtains of white fog. Then the fog parts just enough, A griffon bursts through, wings tattered, body listing hard to one side, claws scraping stone as it lands in a brutal, skidding crash.
A limp rider hangs from the saddle, barely held upright by a single strap.
They haul him gently to the ground. He coughs, chokes, and
grips a knight’s forearm with surprising strength.
“Commander Durn…” he rasps. “I must—warn—her…”
Lady Durn hears the arrival and strides onto the Watch Platform.
She stops dead when she sees the mangled griffon
and its broken rider.
“Lady Durn says "Report" The rider tries to stand—fails—ends up kneeling.
“My… lady…” His voice is raw, half-gone. “The… Advanced Shock Troops… all 200… they’re… they’re dead.”
He struggles for breath. “The Second Dragon Flight… they came out of nowhere. Couldn’t see them in the fog—they dropped on us from above. Sivaks… Kapaks… Thanks to the Dragonlances, we managed to kill one of the Dragons and many of the ground troops, but then"...... He shudders violently.
“The Reapers Squad. A Death Knight led them… and a Death Dragon. Its breath… it stole the life from our men. Shadows everywhere… screams…”
Lady Durn steps forward, lowering herself so she meets his eyes and asks, “Knight… did anyone else survive?”
He shakes his head, no... “Captain Halric fell… buying me time to escape. My griffon… he carried me through the fog… couldn’t see the sky,… just death chasing us…”
Behind him, the griffon gives one last trembling exhale, falls, and goes still. The rider whispers, “Now, I… am the only one… left…”
Lady Durn rises slowly, she turns to the council. “Sound the tower, The Dragon Army approaches. Prepare for attack.” At that moment, the horns begin to echo through the tower, the lone rider finally collapses, unconscious.
Blue Dragon Attack
After about 15 mins, A low rumble rolls across the valley. at first like distant thunder, then growing, louder
From the South-West slope, a tide of draconians breaks through the fog, weapons raised, war cries echoing off the mountains.
Baaz and Kapaks rush forward in a chaotic wave, followed by the heavy footfalls of Traag and Sivaks. The 600 Close-Quarter Troops push forward to stop their advance.
DRAGONS
Then the air shifts—charged, electric. Shadows sweeps the skies. Another. Then another. Three large blue dragons burst through the fog, lightning dancing between their jaws.
The lead dragon releases a thunderous roar that shakes dust from the tower’s ancient stones. Behind them, the rest of the Dragonarmy streams forward—mercenaries, hobgoblins, kobolds.
Without warning, 4 Griffons with riders and
greater dragonlances arrive from the back of the tower
and attack the Blue dragons.
Back at the Command Centre
On the watch platform, Silvart steps forward. Her eyes track the dragons with a focus that seems far beyond elven sight. A sudden gust from a passing blue dragon forces the knights to brace themselves against the railing. But Silvart does not flinch.
Instead, she turns her head slightly toward you, and. “OK It is time,” Before anyone can respond, she sprints toward the edge of the platform. Her boots strike stone—one, two, three bounding steps—and then she leaps into the open air, swallowed instantly by the fog below.
Silvart is gone.
A few seconds a large Silver Dragon flies up from the fog. Its roar shatters the silence. It immediately pounces on two blue dragons with its breath of cold and enters into the arial combat.
Weapons and ammunition Tower
Jack, Kelson and Dorren are witness to the approach of the dragon army. The 600 or so Knights still manage to keep the draconians from getting any closer. But the dragons have a trick up their sleeves, a blue dragon carrying 3 Sivak draconians passes over the ground troups and lands Sivak draconians right in front of Jack, Kelson and Dorren. They fight them off.
Back at the Command Centre
The same situation occurs when a caarier dragon drops 4 Traag draconians on one of the watch Platforms.
Tyvar, Heimdall and some knights attack the draconians and defeat them.
The Highlord’s Strike
While dragons, griffons are fighting it out in the skies, the ground troops are pushing against the draconic invasion of the tower. For the moment, none of them are getting through the wall of Solamic Knights.
A sudden crack of thunder shatters and sky flashes electric blue on the north side of the tower, location of the weapons and ammunitions depot. A large Blue Dragon, dives from above with a deafening roar. His breath erupts in a jagged bolt of lightning that slams into the Munitions Tower, blasting stones outward in a single blinding burst. The shockwave knocks soldiers to their knees.
Through the swirling smoke, a dark figure stands upon
the dragon's neck, The Blue Dragon Highlord...
The large blue dragon lands on the top of the west tower.
She raises her sword, pointing directly toward the High Clerist Tower.
Her voice seems amplified with magic and rolls
through the fortress like thunder.
“LE NORDAIS!”
“Brother, blood of my blood,
Show yourself! For the Dark Queen offers you glory..... or oblivion!”
***every body in and around the tower hears this***
Le Nordais immediately recognizes his sisters voice...
Dorren, from a far, attack the Dragon and the Highlord with a cone of cold.
Unexpected turn...
Before her voice can fade, a cascade of shimmering frost shoots across the sky directly on the blue dragon.
A silver shape dives from the fog with meteoric speed—wings tucked, claws aimed like lances. With a thunderous impact, the silver dragon slams into the bleu dragon's side.
Kitiara staggers, loses her footing, and is hurled from her dragon's back as the two dragons fall to the ground, locked in a deadly grapple. Kitiara crashes at the base of the West tower in a spray of shattered stone.
She rises, Sword drawn, Armor smoked from the cold, Eyes burning with cold fury and purpose.
Kitiara steps forward, removes her helm, revealing her face and passing through the entrance of the tower accompanied by 4 Sivak Draconians that were dropped by the carrier dragon.
Jack, Kelson and Dorren are witness to this event.
As she enters the base of the tower, she Calls out “Le Nordais! Enough running. Enough pretending.”
“By the blood we share… I offer you one last chance.”
The few knight that are guarding that entrance are cut down by the Sivak Draconians.
As she gets closer, she says, “Swear fealty to the Queen of Darkness. Stand with the true power rising in this world. Do this..” she extends a hand toward Le Nordais... “and you will be my brother in conquest.”
“If you refuse… then I will tear down this tower stone by stone until nothing remains of you but ashes.”
Of course Le Nordais refuses her offer, once again...
A combat is initiated with Le Nordais, Hermes and a few Knights that are protecting Laurana...
