5 Phoenix (17:00)

The Solace Inn

When you arrive, there are patrons and KOS sitting at the tables.  Barmaid - Elira Dawnwell, Barkeep Owner - Gorlan Redcask

The barmaid, doesn't pay attention to you

until you have sit... 

She approaches and :

Gentlemen, I'm Elira, what can I get ya!

Drinks and Meals  are served....

 

 

 

 

Cat - Scrap

After you start to eat you meal, Jack, you feel something brush

along your leg, its a grey cat that is under the table.

He starts to sniff all of you,

when he gets to Heimdall he starts to growl....

its not happy about something...

He starts to back away slowly from under the table, never taking her eyes off him.  Elira approaches and mutters : "Scrap, stop that! "    Scrap backs away and starts to hiss at Heimdall.

Elira : He doesn’t do that unless something… bothers him.   Elira calls Gorlan over...

 

Gorlan wipes his hands on a towel and approaches.

Gorlan (calm, but firm):  “…Scrap only acts like this when he senses danger… or something bad.”   “Easy, boy… easy now…”

Scrap hisses again, arching his back and his eyes fixed entirely on Heimdall and also on Tyvar.   Gorlan looks at Heimdall—politely, but with a subtle edge of caution.

Gorlan: “Sir… forgive me, but animals don’t lie. If Scrap’s reacting this way, it means he’s sensing something… that is off. Something he doesn’t trust.”   "Do You carry anything unusual? A relic? A charm? Something recently found or taken? Cats feel things we cannot.”

 

Heimdall pulls out the amulet of darkness.

At that moment, the cats back away, a faint shimmer

ripples across the cat’s pupils a flash gone in an instant.

Scrap gives one last low growl before he runs away and vanishing in the kitchen with impossible speed.

 

Gorlan:  “OK that was wierd…Whatever it is, just take care.   He gestures for the party to continue eating, though his eyes linger on Heimdall a moment longer before walking away.

 

Summoned to the Council of Thanes  (Back to Thorbardin (Kelson & Laurana))

As Kelson & Laurana exit the chamber, a pair of dwarven guards are at the door. One of them raises a gauntleted hand in greeting,   “By order of High King Hornfel, you are to present yourselves before the Council of Thanes — at once. The matter is urgent.”

Kelson & Laurana enter the grand council chamber.  The Thanes of every clan — Hylar, Daewar, Klar, Theiwar, Daergar, and Aghar — sit upon their thrones.  King Hornfel, rises from his seat.  Friends of Thorbardin — your return comes at a turning hour.

Word from Sanction confirms that Fewmaster Toede, The Red Dragon Highlord was killed on the evening of 2 Pheonix. He had just arrived for the Highlords meeting. They say his assassin vanished without a trace.

A new Highlord has already been appointed to fill the void.  We do not yet know the name, only that the appointment came swiftly.  They have sealed their strongholds and placed every garrison on alert.

We have also heard that in preperation of the imminent attack on the High Clerist Tower, the Dragonarmies have positioned them selves closer to the Tower earlier than expected. Along the Southern Dargaard Mountain range.

 

One of the guards enter and mentions to Laurana that Theros send a message, with the new Dragon Metal, he can make 4 additional GDLs.

 

With the 50 Kg of DM, Theros can make an additional 4 GDLs.  Two days to make the other 4 GDLs. Ready in the morning of 7 Pheonix.

Total of :  10 Greater DragonLances (GDL), 18 Lesser DragonLances (LDL)

Laurana uses the Soldier’s Bands of Thorbardin,

to communicate with Le Nordais and tells

about the dragonlances and that Highlord Toede

was assassinated on the evening of 2 Pheonix.  

He had just arrived for the Highlords meeting.

They say his assassin vanished without a trace.

 

Kelson & Laurana, head to the Thorbardin Inn to wait for the rest of the group to return.

 

Messenger... Back to the Solace Inn.

The Solace Inn remains lively.  Patrons return to their meals, the brief moment of silence caused by the cat is fading into background chatter.  

A few minutes later, the front door opens,

letting in a cool gust of night air.
A young boy in simple gray travel clothes steps inside.

He calmly crosses the room, weaving between tables.

He stops beside your table.

​​​​With a polite dip of his head,

he speaks in a tone just loud enough for your ears, 

no one else’s.

Apologies for the intrusion.

I’m to deliver a message to the companions who arrived today.”

He places a folded, sealed parchment on the table. with the impression of the Three Moons pressed into the wax.   

 

 

 

 

He does not sit or wait.   Then, he turns and walks out just as quietly as he arrived. The door closes behind him.

The Letter is in a scrambled language....  Le Nordais takes out the Glasses of the Arcanist, and reads the text:

About 10 seconds after being read, Tte parchment fades to ash....   No magic glow, just… normal-looking ash that dissolves.

 

Evening continues, you look for the cat but is not found.

 

Le Nordais joins the evening musicians and you all finally head to bed for the night.

 

Strange awakening…. 6 Pheonix (07:00)

 

Next morning, as each of you step out of your room at the Solace Inn… the world simply falls away.

The wooden floor beneath your feet turns weightless. A cold shimmer ripples across your vision—like passing through a thin sheet of ice.  Then darkness.  Not night… not shadow… but a suspended nothingness.

A heartbeat later,  You are standing on a stone floor.

You find yourselves inside a vast circular chamber of black stone, suspended in a void of swirling grey fog that surrounds the room from all sides, walls, and even above. No ceiling can be seen. Only mist, endlessly shifting as though alive.    The outer alcoves glow faintly behind you, The air is cool. But you are not alone.

In the center of the room, two wizards stand observing your entrance...

 

“Do not be alarmed. I am Lady Ladonna, and she bows her head.   You were brought here without harm.  The Conclave has watched you… and last night, we saw enough.”   Her eyes turn to Heimdall and Tyvar.

“To be precise—we saw what you carry.”    At tthat moment, The Amulets of Darkness gives a faint vibrating pulse.    The other wizard steps forward, I am Dalamar, “You brought into Palanthas something that should never leave the darkest reaches of the Abyss.”   “The Dark Queen knows where they are at all times. She knows where you are at all times. Even now.”  

The fog starts swirls violently for a moment, as if reacting to what he mentioned.

Lady Ladonna: “You do not understand the danger you are in. It is a listening ear of the Dark Queen.”

“You may think it has served you well… but in truth, it has been serving Her.”   Lady Ladonna: moves and stops directly across from Heimdall and Tyvar.    “It is a mistake to keep it with your group. A mistake that could cost more than your lives. This city. This tower. This war.”    “The Conclave does not normally meddle in the affairs of the world, for we remain neutral.  But when the Dark Queen herself forges a direct link to our realm, we are compelled to intervene.”    

Heimdall and Tyvar seem to be willing to turn over the amulets without hesitation.

 

The Sigil Reveal....

Dalamar lifts his hand and waves it over the center markings on the stone floor. For a second, a Teleportation Sigil appears for a second.   You have requested the sigil to Palanthas, quite a scene you made yesterday at the tower with the Giant Ape..

In return, we request you turn over the Amulets of darkness, and we will ensure their destruction.

 

Heimdall and Tyvar provides the amulets,  Lady Ladonna approaches.   She lifts her hand and murmurs a soft incantation.   A thread of pale white light extends from her fingertip, wrapping around the amulets like a silken ribbon.   The relics rises from your palms and drifts toward her.  Dalamar extends his hand beneath it, forming a dark hole in space, Lady Ladonna drops the amulets in the empty space and Dalamar closes it with a twist of his wrist.

Some questions are asked about, the metallic Dragons, their location and why the Towers Wizards are not helping the wold of men in the current dragon amry invasions.

 

Dalamar also explains the use of the Teleportation sigil.  This chamber is an ancient arcane focus, it reacts to intent, clarity, and emotional resonance. If you step out without directing it, it scatters you randomly across Palanthas.  To intentionally choose a destination, you must “attune” your intention to the room.

Arcane Intention (Arcana Check) - Focus your mind, visualize a place, and let the chamber will respond.

  • Success: Chambers light flickers and you are transported to the requested location

  • Failure: chamber light go dark—roll a random safe Palanthas location (d10).

 

Dalamar : You have shown rare wisdom today. May your steps be lighter without that shadow upon you.

We will return you now".  Dalamar lifts one hand, palm outward.  The fog surrounding the chamber begins surround you, For a heartbeat, you feel suspended between two worlds.  Your boots touch familiar floorboards.
A faint lantern glow rests against wooden walls.   The scent of morning bread and meat drifts under the door.

 

You blink and you are standing inside your own rooms at the Solace Inn.  Everything is exactly as you left it.

 

Contact a friend...

During your morning stay at the Inn,  Heinmdall casts Sending to

communicate with Blaize, The brass dragon that you

freed from a emporal stasis, in Skullcap, he was in for about 350 years.

When you left him, he was very interested in the history of the current

war and tells the you that he will seek out good dragons, if any remain,

to help your cause in this evil dragon invasion.

Heimdall sends him a message containing information about the good dragon eggs, creation of the draconians

Blaize responds a few minutes later with, understand, very interesting and that the good dragons will be informed. 

 

Seeling and purchasing...

 

In the afternoon, you head over to the Crownstone Jewels and meet with Wendel “Old Wink” Gemweaver, to sell the remainder of the uncut garnet rubies.  Then head over to the The Ebon Beacon, for a few more purchases.

Once business is concluded, you all teleport back to Thorbardin and join Laurana, Kelson and the others. 

7 Pheonix (10:00)

Next morning, you teleport to The High Clersit tower with the Dragonlances and meet with Commander Durn.  Some discussions about training her knights on the use of the dragonlances and how you wish to be involed in the towers defenses.

Dragon Orb…

Laurana takes again interest in the use of the Dragon orb and will

attempt to fully attune to it.  Hopefully the orb will be a asset to the

upcoming dragon army attack on the tower.
