Session # 109
2 Phoenix (19:30)
When Leaving Lady Durns quarters, sentries are patrolling and one of the knights recognizes Dorren, he trained with him when he was a squire, Sir Roderic Troy.
Sir Roderic Troy : Dorren is that you, so nice to see you again. Some chit chat between Doron and Troy.
Sir Roderic Troy : Being in the sector, I guess you are looking for Lady Durn, I saw her heading to the War council hall and heard that she was summoned to see Lord Talbow. Something is definitely going on.
You decide to head to the War council hall.
As you head to the council hall, one of the Scribes from the war council hall enters your quarters and calls out, My lords, My lords... I have an important message from Lady Durn, she requests your presence in the War council hall.
You head to the council Hall
War Council Hall
As you approach the Council Hall, 5 guards and Sgt Brandon are stationed outside the doors. The guards invite you to enter. The doors to the council chamber creak open.
Lord Talbow stands at the head of the map table, hands clasped behind his back.
Sgt Brandon enters and stands with a large number of guards. The doors close behind you.
Talbow : Ah… my friends,” “You arrive at a difficult hour. Sgt Brandon mentioned that you intercepted a group of draconian infiltrators in the signal Hall. They were attempting to vandalize our communication equipment.
We thank you for you efforts, but Please wait while I finish this difficult task.
He turns to the back of the hall, Lady Durn and Sir Kane Dravorn are shackled with iron restraints and under guard.
Talbow : By order of the War Council, Lady Durn and Sir Kane Dravorn, you have been arrested for treason.
You stand accused of conspiring with the enemy — of sending coded missives to the Dragon armies through the merchant caravans that passed our outer lines.”
“The evidence is… compelling. Your actions jeopardized the safety of this tower and all who defend it. Until the Council completes its inquiry, they are to be held in the lower cells.
Lord Talbow turns to you all. “But Deception rarely travels alone.”
He gestures toward you. “You carry with you a relic of darkness — an artifact that only the Dragon lords have ever wielded. Did you think it would go unnoticed?”
He pulls out of his armour, a black amulet on a silver chain,
the exact same on that Heimdall has in his possession.
“This was taken from a Dragon army Flight Marshal I killed in single combat. Did you know that these amulets can communicate with each other. I can hear every word that is spoken…
“These amulets are not trinkets — they are conduits of the Dark Queen herself. If you hold such an artifact, then by the law of Solamnia, you stand as her agents of evil until proven otherwise.”
“Until we can discern truth from treachery, By authority of the War Council, you are also placed under arrest."
Some discussion occurs between yourselves and Talbow.
Sgt Brandon steps forward and says: I’m sorry but I have no choice.
Sgt Brandon looks at all of you and does a double take on Jack. He looks at Jack in the eyes and tugs on one of his own ears.
Jack understands that he knows about his earring of message. And sends him a message…
Some interaction occurs and Sgt Brandon communicates to the group that they need to obey and all will be OK.
Sgt Brandon : Don't make this more difficult than it should be. “You need to surrender your weapons, Now!
At that same moment, All the guards in the hall draw their swords and six guards from each side surround you.
Dorren take the lead and heads toward Talbow over the table, some of you decide to attack Talbow and notice that no magic is working within the hall. After one round, you decide to give in and surrender.
Guards approach and all items are taken from you…
Steel Shackles are places on your arms behind your back, mouths are muffled with a leather strap, preventing you from talking and hoods placed over your heads.
Lord Talbow, says, the leather straps for you mouths maybe overkill but I know that some of you are spell casters... Take them away...
To the cell blocks
The guards lead you down several levels of spiral stairs, the muffled sound of their boots echoes in the corridor.
You hear one guard, whispers to another, “I can’t believe we’re doing this to them. These are the ones who saved my brother and his family when they fled Pax Tharkas.”
The second guard, walking close behind, responds, “I know. It’s madness. They’re heroes, not criminals. But orders are orders. I just hope this is all a big missunderstanding”. Another guard, adds quietly, “They’ve done more for Ansalon than half the council ever has. I just pray we’re not making a huge mistake.”
After descending several levels, you are placed in individual cell blocs and removes the hoods. Once the guards have locked the cells.
Sgt Brandon says with a loud voice : You will remain here until the council has made their decision.
Once the guards have left ( you can here them leaving), Sir Brandon mentions quietly to Dorren that Lady Durn has sent a message to Lord Gunthar a few days ago and he will be arriving in the morning to assess the situation with Lord Talbow.
Sgt Brandon : I will return tonight to set you free. Please trust me.
After a few Hours, Heimdall manages to free his leather restraint, and cast Knock on his door cell, frees Kelson.
They hear guards approaching and it is Sgt Brandon, Kelson and Heimdall go back in their cell with completely closing the cell door, that remains unlocked. Sgt Brandon goes to all the cells and advises you all that Lord Gunthar will be arriving very soon.
He also notices that the two cell doors are unlock, and he closes them. And mentions again, please trust me.
Sgt Brandon arrival. 3 Pheonix (5 AM)
Some many hours later, you are awakened by many footsteps approaching, at least 4. Sergeant Brandon steps forward and direct the guards to open the cells and while unlocking your restraints he says “Lord Gunthar is here, the deception is over. He waits for you in the war council hall.
You are given all your weapons and equipment, except for the Dragonlance that Kelson had.
Sergeant Brandon mentions that it was picked up by Lord Gunthar.
The walk from the cell block to the War Council Chamber shows signs of the battle. As you climb the winding staircases, on the levels you catch sight of several small mounds of dust scattered along the stone floors. Sgt Brandon mentions that they are remnants of Sivak Draconians defeated by the knights.
Sgt Brandon gestures to one as you pass. “Talbow’s loyalists didn’t go quietly. But they’ve been dealt with.”
The final staircase leads to the grand doors of the War Council Chamber, Sergeant Brandon with a smile says: “Your journey through this night is done, but a new one begins.. and he invites into the war council hall.
Back to War Council Hall - Lord Gunthar
The heavy damages doors swings open, and a Tall and broad-shouldered knight, with long golden hair and a proud mustache, gleaming silver armor adorned with blue and white heraldry — roses, crowns, and swords.
He has your Dragonlance in hand.
Sgt Brandon introduces you, My friends, Lord Gunthar.
Gunthar : "Valiant ones" He gestures to one of his guards and give him the dragonlance, the guard carries it over to Dorren.
“I owe you my gratitude. Lady Durn’s message reached me, and it appears you have been caught in a web of treachery. Lord Talbow's deception is now laid bare. He is under arrest.”
We discovered that he was a draconian polymorphed as a Lord Talbow to ensure that the dragon armies would be successful during the upcoming attack.
Gunthar’s gaze softens as he looks each of you in the eye. “You stood by Lady Durn, and for that, you have my respect. The Knights of Solamnia are grateful for your vigilance.” Know that your actions have once again safeguarded our cause, and we will not forget your service.
Lady Durn has been appointed the new commander of the High Clerist Tower. She will continue discussions and planning for the upcoming threat from the approaching Dragon armies. But she also told me about this weapon you call a dragonlance, tell me more about it?
You discuss about the dragonlances and that you can provide more. He seems quite happy and leave the planning of the tower’s defences with Commander Durn.
Commander Durn mentions the gathered information about the Dragon Army forces.
Full Compliment of the Blue Dragon Army will be attacking.
