Session # 107

2 Phoenix (10:00)

After returning from the council hall. Dorren, Kelson, Tyvar and Silvart head to the forge to ask a few questions about Dorren getting a new shinny sword.  theros explain he is not able to make what he wants.

Le Nordais and Laurana discuss the use of the Dragon orb, Laurana seems very interested.

jack, Heimdall and Hermes have a drink with Lozzac at the bar.

You all head to the Thanes Council chamber fro an audience with King Hornfell.  He accepts.

He accepts you request for a communication tools and also mentions that their main focus is the safety of Thorbardin.  they can help as much as they can, but whatever happens above is not of their concern, well not yet.

You inform him and the counci about the dragon eggs and how you would want to warn the good dragons about the eggs and how they are using them.  Hornfell also explains that allhe knows of the location of the Good dragons is that they are on the Dragon Iles, north of the continent of Anslaon.

You manage to get from the shop a pair of Soldier’s Bands of Thorbardin and a scroll of sending.

You head back to the inn, and decide to teleport to the High Clerist Tower.

Arrival at the High Clerist Tower

The hum of teleportation fade. You stand in a large hall, its air thick with oil, smoke, and the faint scent of incense. Banners hang from the pillars — the emblems of the Crown, Sword, and Rose of the Knights of Solamnia (KOS).

Other rooms you investigate, nothing to be found.

When exiting, instantly a squad of 8 Knights of Solamnia draws weapons in disciplined precision. The sergeant steps forward. “By order of the Tower Commander, identify yourselves!  This hall is restricted to the service of Solamnia and her allies!”

Recognition of Dorren

One of the younger knights suddenly freezes, his expression shifting from alarm to astonishment.

“Sergeant… that’s Dorren! Knight of the Crown — I served under his banner while he was stationed in Palanthas.

The sergeant’s immediately sheathes his blade, the others following suit.

Dorren… by the Oath and the Measure, your presence honors this Tower. We had thought you lost in the southern reaches. I am Roderic Marran, knight of the Rose.

You arrived through the teleportation circle, and unannounced?  What brings you to the Tower?”

You mention that you are here to inform the Tower of an imminent threat and possible way to assist.

“Understood, These are difficult days secrecy is wise.”  He signals to his men to relax.  “We’ve had spies and worse try to breach these walls. You’ll forgive our vigilance.”  “If your business is for the Commander himself, he’s in council even now. I’ll escort you personally.”

He gives a subtle glance toward the others — not suspicion exactly, but the calculating look of a soldier assessing potential danger.

“This way, my lords and ladies. I’ll announce you.”

Through the Tower

The sergeant leads you through winding corridors.   “You’ve chosen a dangerous time to return,” the sergeant says quietly as you walk. “The enemy grows bold. Their dragons were sighted again this morning over the Vingaard foothills.

At the council hall entrance, Two guards stand at attention.  The sergeant raps twice on the doors, then turns to you.   The doors swing open on creaking hinges — revealing the council chamber, the war table, with five people around the table.

The chamber is a large oval hall of pale marble, its floor patterned with dark inlays that trace Solamnic runes of honour and duty. A long, polished wooden war table dominates the center, surrounded by high-backed chairs. Maps, scrolls, and markers are spread across the table.

Two vases burn near the western wall, their orange glow casting warm light across the banners of Solamnia that hang proudly between the columns. The air is heavy with smoke and tension.

The hall’s outer walls are lined with statues of Solamnic heroes — knights and champions of ages past.

At the far end, a raised alcove holds a larger-than-life

statue of Huma Dragonbane.

When you enter, conversation halts, All eyes turn to you

  • Sir Aaron Talbow — Commander of the Company of the Rose (in truth, the Sivak impostor). He presides at the head of the table.

  • Council Knights — Senior members of the Orders of the Crown, Sword, and Rose, gathered to coordinate the defense of the Tower.

  • Scribes and aides — Standing quietly along the walls, recording discussions and relaying orders.

Their faces are marked by fatigue and determination — warriors who have seen too many defeats but refuse to surrender.

Last time you saw Aaron he was buried by Dorren at the foot of one of the Towers of Eli in Silvanesti,  where was the trapped spirit of Derek Crownguard.

“Dorren,” “By Paladine’s grace, you’ve returned.”   His gaze drifts to all of you.  “And with you — the heroes of Thorbardin. I thought the gods had claimed you all.”

He gestures toward the table, the knights stepping aside in respect.

“Come. Stand with us. Much has changed… and your arrival could not be more timely.”

Presentation of the council

“My apologies, allow me to introduce the members of the War Council.

  • Lady Seraina uth Varyn, Knight of the Rose — our senior strategist and the heart of this council.

  • Sir Alaric Dorne, Knight of the Sword — a man of faith and steel, his counsel is ever guided by Paladine’s light.

  • Lady Kaela Durn, Knight of the Crown— whose command on the field has saved more lives than any of us care to count.

  • Sir Taren Valen, acting commander of the Tower Guard — young, but wise beyond his years.

and of course, assisting us are our faithful scribe, who ensures our words swiftly become action.”

“Please,” he says, gesturing to the map table. “We have much to discuss, and little time to waste. The Dragonarmies are approaching.   “Tell me, what brings you to the Tower at such a desperate hour?”

Dorren explains about the threat and they have something to show you, a dragonlance.

Aaron face turns to worry, a bead of sweat rolls down his forehead. He sits down and gathers himself.

We’ve heard whispers from the south,” “Rumors of dwarves, humans and elves uniting under a common cause — of ancient weapons returning to light.  So it is true.

Dorren mentioned about he being dead and returning, Aaron explains,

Yes… I heard the stories.  That I fell in Silvanesti. That you found my body among the dead beneath the towers.”

“I remember that place — the green mist, the whispering trees. The air itself was poison. I thought the end had come.”   “But Paladine was not done with me.”   “I awoke beneath shattered stone, gasping for breath. The forest was still. No more screams, no more illusions.  I do not know how long I lay there — hours, perhaps days. When I rose, the corruption was gone. My wounds had closed.

“I took it as a sign — that Paladine had spared me for a purpose.  So I traveled west, alone, through the ruins of our once-great realm. I followed the call of duty, and it led me here, to the High Clerist Tower.”  “When I arrived, the Knights welcomed me as one risen from the tomb. in place of Dereck, They named me commander of the Company of the Rose, and I swore anew to defend Solamnia until the end.”

His gaze sweeps the table, then fixes on Dorren.  “You buried a body — yes. But tell me, my friend… in that cursed land, where illusion and truth were one, how certain were you of what you saw?”

The group seems reassured

Aaron Invites to stay on another day.   Your timing could not have been more providential,” he says. “We meet at dawn to finalize the Tower’s defences. I would ask you to stay, my friends — lend your experience to the war council tomorrow.  Every insight may save a hundred lives.”

I'm sure that the hammer and the arm are hard at work in Thorbardin.

He gestures to an aide. “Quarters will be arranged. Rest well tonight — the morrow will test us all.”

Gailtred will escort you to your quarters.
